SURVEY: MAPPING PUBLIC MARKETS UTAFITI: KUCHORA RAMANI YA MASOKO YA UMMA

Mapping Public Markets is a diagnostic survey aimed at understanding the daily realities, challenges, and opportunities faced by micro and small entrepreneurs operating in public markets across Zanzibar. This initiative seeks to gather insights directly from vendors, traders, and informal business owners to inform future strategies on business formalization, access to credit, training, and infrastructure improvements. By listening to those at the heart of the market economy, this survey hopes to build a clearer picture of how public markets function, what barriers traders face, and how inclusive policies can be designed to support their growth. All information collected will remain confidential and will be used solely to support public programs and policy development for economic empowerment.
